Groove acoustic panels are made of medium density fiberboard (MDF) material that expands depending onclimate conditions. For this reason, it is important to leave a distance, called dilatation joint,between the perimeter of the wooden panelling and walls and other fixed objects in the premise.
During summer season, panels expand considerably due to high air humidity and temperature.
A minimum dilatation joint of 8mm (1) must be guaranteed. In case of wide surfaces, this joint has to be increased. As a general rule, a minimum of 1,5mm of joint for each lineal meter of panelling is needed at each side of the room. Example: a room of 5m in width needs a minimum of 8 mm of dilatation joint at each side.
Note: minimum 15 mm with a relative air humidity > 65%.
Although the material have contact at only one side with a wall or other fixed objects, it is possible that
panelling goes off. Dilatation joints are covered with skirting boards or special profiles.

Absorption coefficients range from 0 to 1 and vary with frequency,
α=0 means that the material absorbs no sound and reflects all sound energy incident on it.
α=1 means that the material absorbs all sound energy incident on it and reflects none.
Absorption coefficients of 0 and 1 are ideal values that do not exist in reality because all materials reflect and absorb some sound.
In general, materials having absorption coefficients less than 0.15 are considered to be reflective and those having absorption coefficients greater than 0.4 are considered to be absorptive.

Special keel installation method:
1.Fix the keel on the wood frame or baseboard.The separation distance is about 600 mm.
2.Fill the 32-64kg/m3 density acoustic foam between each two profiles.
3.Install the clips between the keel and the clip slot of acoustic panel.
4.When many pieces of wooden acoustic panel stack mounting plate to plate.The interspace of each head of plate must at least be 2-3 mm.
5.If the acoustic panel starts installing from the ground by horizontal type,the notch should down to install and use clips of lock.Then install the acoustic panel one by one.
